A new week and a new episode of Beat4Battle TV:UK. This time Yoshi stopped by in London for a little informal session with Maroon from NozL, Discuss and Manipulate who are all part of the Community Skratch Games collective. 2tall and myself popped over to catch up with everyone and 2tall was promptly ropped into a couple of sessions too.

As with episodes 2 and 3, this is part 1 and the remaining parts will be put on Vimeo shortly for you to stream.

As usual big thanks to Yoshi for his hard work, and big ups to Discuss and the boys for the hospitality and laughs. Roll on the Community Skratch Tour later in August.

This episode is 22 minutes long, and comes in at 266mb. As with all our video podcasts it’s optimised for iPod and iTunes (.m4v file) viewing but can be played with all standard media players as long as you have the latest codecs.

You can preview/stream it above and download it right below. To make sure you don’t miss an episode subscribe to our podcast feed on iTunes or in any feed reader/aggregator/podcatcher.

Beat4Battle TV:UK – Episode 3.1

Looks like I made a mistake when I put this live yesterday and forgot to attach the podcast and even put it in the right category! I guess that’s why they say you shouldn’t work while on holidays. All fixed now, subscribers should see the podcast make its way to them shortly. Laurent.

And so we continue our Beat4Battle TV:UK series with Episode 3. This time Yoshi headed south to Brighton to hook up with some of the city’s best, namely Blood 1, Fidel Cutstro and Ideal. Regular listeners of the show will know these guys, all of which are also linked to the Community Skratch collective.

This episode is 24 minutes long once more, and comes in at 280mb.

Slight change of plan to the previously announced additional parts of Beat4Battle TV:UK episode 2. Instead of releasing them weekly we’re giving you all remaining 3 parts as Vimeo only embeds/streams exclusive to this here site!

So without further ado, see below for the video goodness, and stay tuned for part 3 which will be online tomorrow. Bit late but I’m on holiday and have better things to do! (ok so I’m doing this, but I’m also sitting in the shade with a glass of pastis so it’s ok).

As usual all videos edited by Yoshi for Beat4Battle TV.

CSG-UK TOUR

The Community Skratch collective are going on the road this summer, in full baller status with a mini-tour of some of the UK’s finest haunts where they’ll deliver amazing sounds and showcases never before seen by the indigeneous population. Or something like that. More accurately, the guys will be touring this summer bringing the Community Skratch experience to fine cities up and down the UK – expect some great scratching, challenging showcases and most important of all a great party vibe and some serious good times.

Hitting the road will be Grandeurs of Delusion, Blam and Plato (from Norway), Blood One, Discuss, Clockwork, Lone Wolf, Vince Mack Mahon (from Ireland), Fluins and Crkrik (from Germany) and Fidel Cutstro. Dates are as follows:

11th August – Leeds @ Jakes Bar
12th August – Nottingham @ Jam Bar
13th August – London @ The Victoria, Bow
15th August – Lewes @ The Landsdown
16th August – Brighton @ The Gladstone (Community Skratch BBQ)

Peep the flyer above for more details and the myspace as well. And if you missed it check the videos from this year’s Community Skratch Games in Galway for a taste of what to expect. We’ll be at the London and Brighton shows so come say hello!

Beat4Battle TV: UK – Episode 2 (part 1)

We continue the Beat4Battle TV:UK series of video podcasts with episode 2 featuring the talents of Tigerstyle, Muzzel and Mr Brown.

You already got a taste of the session that was filmed with these guys in the preview we posted a few weeks back, and there’s plenty more for you to get stuck in as this episode is actually 4 parts deep! We’re podcasting the first part here and the following 3 will be made available exclusive on our Facebook fan page and Yoshi’s Vimeo channel. Look out for them coming weekly after this episode.

This session was filmed at Mr Brown’s studio, with the support of the lovely people at Dephect clothing. Filmed and edited by Yoshi for Beat4Battle TV.

This episode is 24 minutes long, accordingly coming at a fairly weighty 270mb!

Following on from the sneak preview we gave you last week, we kick start our brand new Beat4Battle TV: UK series with episode 1 and the fine talents of DJ Switch and IQ, two of the youngest and brightest in the UK. Switch is the recent DMC World battle for supremacy champion while IQ is a veteran (despite his early years) of the battle scene of sorts and currently working with MC Asaviour and others as a producer.

As explained in our preview post, here, Beat4Battle TV is directed by Yoshi, the newest member of the TTR fam, and focuses on the various local scratch scenes worldwide, starting with the UK. Plans were made to go to France for a couple of weeks unfortunately legal issues have meant that Yoshi is stuck in the UK for another 2 weeks before returning to Japan, therefore the next European series will most likely be later this year when Yoshi returns. In the meantime you can look forward to some Beat4Battle TV: Japan action in the coming months.

Back to the matter at hand, the current line up for the Beat4Battle TV: UK series is as follows:
EP1 – Switch/IQ
EP2 – Tigerstyle/Muzzell/Mr Brown/Silk Kuts/AO
EP3 – Fidel Cutstro/Blood 1/Ideal
EP4 – DissCuss/Manipulate/Maroon/2Tall
EP5 – Clix
EP6 – Mikey

Additionally Yoshi will be repping TTR and Beat4Battle at this week’s UK DMC Finals, so if anyone is reading this is going to be there Thursday and fancies being filmed then please get in touch with him or myself directly (yoshi / laurent at turntableradio dot com).

For now though sit back and enjoy 14 mins of fresh new footage. Preview/stream below and direct download link underneath. As usual all videos are optimised for iPod/iTunes viewing and can be opened with any media player using the latest codecs. File type is .m4v, file size is 161mb.

For more info on Switch and IQ hit up the myspaces.
