We finish our festive podcast series with the third and last part of the Season’s Beatings mix series. Originally released in 2006 this is the perfect way to round off a day spent eating, drinking and being merry (or oppressed by rarely seen family members).

Season’s Beatings ‘A Yuletide Odyssey’ – podcast special

Back in 2003, Mr Trick aired the excellent ‘Seasons’s Beatings’ mix as a Turntable Radio christmas treat. Put together by J Squared, Dave H and Hudson, the mix rightly received a lot of praise, and has become a bit of a classic since, for weaving together over an hour of the finest festive music from far and wide, providing the ultimate alternative soundtrack to the festive holidays.

In 2005 and 2006, the guys continued their work to spread the alternate festive spirit and released volumes 2 and 3, proving that there is a lot more ‘unusual’ xmas and festive music out there than you ever thought possible.

And so five years on, we’re very happy to say that the men behind Season’s Beatings have decided to make all three volumes available to download for one and all. Ironically, I was speaking to them at exactly the same time to do another special on the show for this year’s holiday season, so the timing couldn’t have been better to bring you this glorious series of festive mixes for you to enjoy before, during and after the christmas festivities.

New site live – mind the paint!

If you’re a regular visitor to both this site and our sister show Rhythm Incursions then this probably won’t be that much of a surprise to you. Regardless welcome one and all to the brand spanking new Turntable Radio site. Mind the paint while we finalise things here and there.

While it all looks different everything else is pretty much the same: you can now access all the latest shows from the front page, as well as the latest videos. Feeds from all our other sites are the right hand side as well as various other handy navigation bits. Our Soundcloud dropbox is on the right side too, so if you’re an artist, label or PR person and want us to hear your music just use that or drop us a line via the contact form (top menu).
