DJ Happee – The Renaissance

DJ Happee is back with a new album, 4 years since his debut ‘The Cinematic Orchestra’. ‘The Renaissance’ is quite a change from his debut with a more rugged feel to it and a more straightforward approach to the music.

Beats seemingly designed for the clubs (or at the very least a car with big ass speakers) coupled with heavy guitar riffs and tight cuts. Blending his production with live instruments, Happee manages to deliver quite a few memorable pieces. It might not be anything new but it works well and it’s nice to hear something new from the man – and in general it’s just nice to see people pushing stuff out and keeping things moving along.

‘The Renaissance’ features Dinoh, Ruthless, Tyra From Saigon and Entec, as well as a fair few other upcomers. The album will be released on Happee’s own Zone Seven recordings, and should be out in April this year and available from all good record shops. We’ve already aired an exclusive from the album at the end of last year and we’ll be airing another brand new track in the forthcoming March podcast.

In the meantime be sure to keep an eye on djhappee.com and his myspace page for more up to date news on the release and extracts from the album.
