Well, here’s one to spark debate (taken from Digital Music News):
Viral Video Remix Grabs Major Label Attention
Quick, viral hits on the internet are continuing to grab the attention of big media companies. Most recently, DJ Keltech, an amateur DJ who’s real name is “Lloyd,” scored a hit with a pair of home-made scratching videos. Keltech dressed up for the mixes, posing as Darth Vader in one and a War of the Worlds alien in the other. The videos, posted on YouTube competitor StupidVideos.com, soon attracted over 400,000 viewers.
One of the eventual viewers was Jeff Wayne, the legendary producer of the hit musical inspired by War of the Worlds. “Mr. Wayne had seen the video of me using his record to scratch over dressed as an alien and asked me if I would remix the track for the new official War of the Worlds remix album,” said Keltech. “I was blown away by this news.” The Sony BMG release, called War of the Worlds Remixes ulladubulla, is slated for global release on April 17th. While stories like these tend to be over-simplified and romanticized, more music superstars are likely to come from new formats over the next few years. The Keltech story comes on the heels of another internet video explosion involving Sandi Thom, who inked a recording deal with RCA Records Group/Sony BMG in the UK following an incredibly successful webcast concert series.
Hmmm… thoughts anyone?

Keltech is a good DJ there is no doubt in that.
However has Qbert not been doin the same sort of thing (wearing masks and dressin up) for a while now?

I had a similar experience with youtube but not quite so major as Keltech’s.
A freestyle scratch vid of Skunkboy+Crazy2cool scored over 120,000 hits in a week and has now got us making vids for urban street wear companies.
Very cool stuff
