DJ Void drops first vinyl 12″ on All Skratch Recs

DJ Void follows up from the release of his first EP last year, with the first vinyl single taken from said EP featuring the track Getto Bass and a new one from DJ Sidetrack, entitled ‘Distress Signal’.
In addition to each track, the vinyl features instrumentals and scratch sentences containing various elements from the compositions.
From the press release:
“The first time you hear ‘Geto Bass’ you might not realize that it is a skratch remix and tribute to 2 Live Crew’s classic. Geto bass is the ultimate mix of skratched old school electro with screw’d Miami bass. This track encompasses Void’s vision for turntable music through distorted 808s layered with all-skratched solos and hooks.
The B-side features “Distress Signal’’ by Sidetrak. Making a political statement through artistic expression may seem a bit cliché by today’s standards, but Distress Signal goes beyond shaking a finger at the President. “Distress Signal” is a musical evolution with a combination of skratching, keyboards, drum programming, as well as unique array of sampling that includes a guest appearance by Mr. Dubya himself.”

Regular listeners will remember Getto Bass from last year’s shows, as well as other Void tracks from the EP. It’s nice to see him step it up a notch with a vinyl release so if you like what you hear then definitely get a copy and support the grassroots scene.
‘Distress Signal’ will be aired on the next show as well.
